Pay: $245.00-265.00 per hour
Assignment Length: 12-months
Schedule:
Clinic coverage, no call
Monday-Friday, 7:30a-5:00p
Scheduled 16 patients per day

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
Diagnose and treat diseases of the lungs and respiratory system
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, chest X-rays, CT scans, and bronchoscopies
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs
Manage patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, including those in intensive care units (ICUs)
Provide consultation and follow-up care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care providers, oncologists, and thoracic surgeons
Educate patients and families on treatment options, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards
Participate in continuing education and research to stay current with advances in pulmonary medicine

Skills:
Extensive knowledge of nephrology principles, including renal physiology, pathology and treatment modalities
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
Ability to manage complex kidney conditions and adjust treatments as needed
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
Collaborative skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams

Education Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

Licenses & Certifications:
Board certification in Pulmonology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
Active and unrestricted medical license in Maine

Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum pulmonologists positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting

Locum tenens pulmonologists positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities
