Locums - Neonatal NP - Ann Arbor, MI
Job description
Work Details:
· Support staff: Service line chief, medical director, APP leadership,
· Amount of coverage needed per month: 6 FTE 1-2 weekends per month
· Patients per day: 6-8 Level 4 patients per day. The unit does not have a stepdown
o 11 APP on day shift
o 5 APP on nights
o APP, a fellow, neonatologist all on call.
· Patient population/age: Newborn
· Department description: Level 4, 59-bed unit (NICU also accepts babies from all over the Midwest and routinely accepts transfers from other NICUs for specialized medical, cardiac and general and specialty surgical care)
o Regional referral center for advanced neonatal therapies, such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), high-frequency ventilation and therapeutic hypothermia, or for coordination of complex care requiring multiple types of pediatric specialists only available at a children’s hospital.
o NICU maintains a ratio of one nurse to two patients
· EMR: EPIC (must be familiar with Epic)
· Hospital bed size: 244 pediatric beds
· Special procedures: Intubation, umbilical artery/venous cannulation, chest tube placements, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ventilation management (including high frequency oscillatory ventilation). Must be comfortable with deliveries.
· Skills required: MUST provide procedure log verification

· Board Certification: Yes
· License required: Willing to license

· Certifications preferred:
· Certifications required: NRP and BLS (AHA). Must be NCC certified as Neonatal NP
· Minimum experience required: minimum 3 years experience in level 3 or 4 NICU setting
Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days
OT after scheduled shift

Contract Length: 3 months with option to extend
Shift Details: Mon – Sun (1-2 weekends per month)
Schedule:
• Day shift: 0600-1800 (12hr) (PRIMARY NEED)
• Night: shift 1700 – 0700 (14hr)
