Are you a licensed Internal Medicine physician passionate about providing care in a meaningful setting? The Illinois Department of Human Services is seeking a dedicated Physician Specialist to join the team at Alton Mental Health Center. Help individuals with mental health needs by delivering compassionate, comprehensive primary care in a secure, supportive environment.

💼 What You’ll Do:
• Serve as a primary care physician for adult patients
• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and emergency medical care
• Coordinate medical services and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Participate in medical staff committees and court testimony as needed
• Lead with integrity and compassion in a state mental health facility

📚 What We’re Looking For:
• Valid Illinois Physician and Surgeon License
• Completion of an approved Internal Medicine residency
• DEA & Illinois Controlled Substance License (or ability to obtain)
• Experience working with adults, especially those with mental illness
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements and participate in MOD rotation
