Job description
Billings Clinic in Montana is seeking a board-eligible Cardiologist for a long-term locum tenens position starting October 6, 2025. The role is outpatient-focused with minimal inpatient duties and includes one night of backup call coverage per week.
This consultative cardiology position is well-suited for providers comfortable working independently in a high-volume outpatient clinic setting, reading echocardiograms and nuclear studies, and preferably performing TEEs. The call component is limited to Wednesday nights and is considered second call/backup for assigned patients, with a low call-back rate.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, clinic hours
- Volume: 16–20 patients/day
- Consultative only — no admissions or rounding
- Call: 2nd call Wednesdays (1:5 ratio); 30-minute response time
- Avg. Call Volume: 5 phone consults, 1 patient seen, 1 admission
- Facility: Billings Clinic – Level 1 trauma center
- Beds in Cardiology: 40
- EMR: Cerner
Requirements:
- Board eligible or board certified in Cardiology
- Fellowship required
- BLS certification required
- Must be licensed in MT or IMLC eligible
- Consistent 2-week/month availability required for 6 months minimum
- Temp privileges not available
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- Credentialing timeline: ~90 days
