Seeking Psychiatrist for Homeless Veterans Care Team - HPACT
Job description
The Mental Health Service at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLA) is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join the Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team (HPACT) at our West Los Angeles VAMC.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive services to Veterans impacted by homelessness, you will be instrumental in delivering psycho-diagnostic services and therapeutic interventions. Your role will encompass medication management, supportive psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and same-day psychiatric services, ensuring Veterans receive coordinated, rehabilitative, and restorative care aimed at achieving their highest level of functioning, independence, and housing stability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide full spectrum of psychiatric services
• Manage medications for a wide variety of mental disorders.
• Deliver supportive psychotherapy when indicated.
• Evaluate/manage Veterans presenting urgent psychiatric needs, including hospitalization if necessary.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team huddles.
• Engage in outreach to homeless Veterans residing in transitional and supportive housing
• Teach/supervise psychiatry residents affiliated with the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine

Qualifications:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine
• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license
• Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Preferred minimum of 5 years of practice but not required.
Benefits and Features:
• Salary Range: $280,000-$315,000
• PTO: 50–55 days of PTO annually (26/13 days of annual/sick leave, 11 holidays,)
