Locums – APP – Nurse Practitioner – Pediatric Critical Care (PICU) - Southern CA

Job description

Location: Large teaching hospital in California

Contract Length: 8–9 months

Reason for Coverage: Provider on extended leave of absence

Credentialing: 7–8 weeks (temporary privileges available)

Schedule:

Night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

12-hour shifts

2–3 shifts per week

Weekends and holidays required

No call

Practice Setting:

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Coverage includes PICU, Stepdown PICU, and PICU DOU

16-bed PICU and 8-bed DOU

APP serves as primary provider for up to 8 patients

Collaborative model with PICU Attending, Fellow, and Resident

DOU is NP-run overnight (no fellows or residents)

Requirements:

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Acute Care)

Minimum 2 years of PICU experience in a large children’s hospital (Level I preferred)

Active California license required for NPs (no licensing provided); PAs may be licensed

BLS and ACLS certifications required

DEA required
