A locum tenens opportunity is available for a Physician in Gastroenterology starting June 29, 2026, with continuous 24-hour call coverage blocks through August 2026 and ongoing needs. The role includes inpatient, outpatient, and procedural endoscopy responsibilities with rotating weekly assignments.

This is an acute care hospital providing full-service gastroenterology care, including inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and endoscopy services.

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $3200/Day + $450 Callback Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.
‣ Daily regular pay (8 hours)
‣ Beeper on call pay (15 hours)
‣ Weekend 24-hour call rate
‣ Call back pay (details provided by recruiter)
‣ Travel expenses reimbursed, including:

‣ Malpractice Covered

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care
‣ Perform EGD and colonoscopy procedures
‣ Manage acute and chronic GI conditions
‣ Provide 24-hour call coverage during assigned weekly blocks
‣ Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations
‣ Coordinate referrals for surgical or advanced care when needed
‣ Participate in inpatient rounding and procedural scheduling
‣ Document care in Epic EMR
‣ Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certified Gastroenterologist required
‣ Active New York State license required (no licensing support available)
‣ DEA required
‣ BLS and ACLS required
‣ Minimum 2 years of recent GI experience required
‣ Strong proficiency in upper and lower endoscopy required
‣ Epic EMR experience required
‣ Clean work history preferred (no gaps >30 days unless documented)
‣ Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days

Working Hours:
‣ Coverage type: 24-hour call with clinical duties
‣ Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating weekly blocks
‣ Office hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
‣ Procedure hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
‣ Call: 24-hour coverage during assigned weeks
