Cardiothoracic Surgeon Needed in Madison, WI | Holiday Coverage | ~2 Weeks | Licensure Flexible (IMLC Accepted)

Job description

Start: December 21, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: Approximately 2 weeks - holiday coverage through January 3, 2027
Coverage: Cardiothoracic surgery call and rounding
Schedule: 12/21 at 7:00a - orientation and system access setup. 12/22 at 7:00a through 12/26 at 7:00a - on call with on-call duties and rounding. 12/26 through 1/3 - serving as backup to the on-call provider, available 24 hours to support the permanent surgeon as needed.
Call: 24-hour call across all assigned dates
Volume: Varies
Patient Population: Adults
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, Level II-IV trauma - cardiothoracic surgery department

Support: Surgeons, PA-Cs, and RNs. Typical cardiothoracic surgical case mix. Must be comfortable managing aortic dissections; thoracic surgery as needed. Robotic surgery equipment in use. Daily rounding during the primary on-call period. Timely documentation in Epic.

Requirements
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Wisconsin license or IMLC accepted
- DEA required
- BLS and ACLS required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- MD/DO only
