Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a Board-Certified OBGYN Physician to provide 24-hour in-house call coverage at a well-equipped hospital in Texas. This opportunity offers the chance to support patients throughout labor and delivery while working alongside a dedicated maternal and neonatal care team.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: February 2027
• Coverage Type: 24-hour in-house call
• Schedule: Five 24-hour day shifts
• Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Schedule: Standard
• Location: Texas

Clinical Responsibilities
• Evaluate and treat patients in the Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED)
• Manage care for unassigned OB/GYN patients
• Monitor labor and interpret fetal heart tracings
• Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Respond to obstetrical emergencies and evolving labor complications
• Serve as the primary safety net for the labor and delivery unit
• Provide pregnancy-related and gynecologic consultations to the Emergency Department and medical floors
• Evaluate and treat postpartum patients before discharge
• Participate in emergency drills and quality improvement initiatives
• Follow evidence-based protocols and patient safety standards

Required Delivery & Surgical Experience
• Vaginal deliveries
• Cesarean sections
• Emergency obstetrical procedures

Facility Highlights
• Approximately 1,300–1,500 births annually
• 20-bed Level III NICU
• Private maternity suites
• Two cesarean birth suites
• Dedicated antepartum area for high-risk pregnancies
• Educational classes and resources for new parents
• EMR: Epic

Qualifications
• MD or DO required
• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Completion of an accredited ACGME OB/GYN residency program with robotics training
• Current Texas medical license
• Recent delivery and surgical experience required
