Join a laid-back, steady-paced outpatient surgery center providing a wide variety of procedures in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position Overview:
The CRNA will serve as a primary provider of anesthesia care in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), working alongside surgeons and anesthesiologists. Responsibilities include conducting pre- and post-anesthesia evaluations, administering anesthesia and sedation for surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
Case Mix:
Providers deliver anesthesia for a diverse range of outpatient procedures, including:
General Surgery
Orthopedics
Gynecology
ENT
Podiatry
Urology
Dentistry
Ophthalmology
Typical daily case load:
Dental: 2–3 cases
GI (Upper & Lower Scopes): 10 cases per day (often completed by 2 p.m.)
Orthopedics: 2–10 cases per day, depending on schedule
General Surgery: Approximately 6 cases per day
Occasional GYN cases, with plans to add ENT and ophthalmology in the future
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and order appropriate medications
Plan and administer anesthesia, including sedation, general, and regional blocks
Monitor patients and manage airways during procedures
Respond to abnormal reactions and provide resuscitative care as needed
Perform post-anesthesia evaluations and coordinate with surgeons on patient care
Ensure equipment readiness and compliance with all relevant standards
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited CRNA program with NBCRNA certification
Active or eligible Alaska RN and CRNA licensure
Current ACLS and PALS certifications
DEA registration and clean malpractice history
One year of recent anesthesia experience preferred (new graduates considered)
Must meet credentialing and privileging requirements
Must pass background check in accordance with federal requirements
