Job description
Assignment Details:
Start Date: January 1, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: (4) 10-hour shifts per week or (3) 12-hour shifts; must be available weekly (no week-on/week-off rotation)
Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, with rotating weekend coverage (Saturdays & Sundays)
Time Off: All requests must be submitted prior to assignment start
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient GI
Patient Population: Ages 13 through end of life
Work Environment:
Large, high-acuity teaching hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center)
Collaborative anesthesia care team model including 60 CRNAs, 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 residents
Anesthesia team supports 30+ main ORs, multiple offsite locations, outpatient surgery centers, and GI suites
EMR: Epic | Hospital size: ~600 beds
Clinical Focus:
GI anesthesia cases
Medical direction model
Excluded cases: open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, peripheral nerve blocks
Requirements:
Licensure: Active Virginia license (required)
Board Certification: Required
Experience: Minimum 2 years, with preference for candidates with academic or Level 1/2 trauma experience and familiarity with ASA 3+ patient populations
Vaccinations: COVID-19 and influenza vaccines required (no exemptions)
Certifications: Valid ACLS and BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA only)
DEA: Not required
Credentialing Timeframe: Minimum 30 days.
