Work Environment & Details:

Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital + ambulatory surgery center

Support Staff: CRNAs (no medical direction required)

Patient Volume: Approx. 50–60 cases/day across the department

Department Coverage: Ortho, ortho trauma, general, general trauma, spine, neuro, cath lab, endoscopy, and ambulatory surgery. OB is covered separately and not required for locums.

Operating Rooms: 11 ORs in the main hospital and 2 in the ambulatory center

EMR Systems: Cerner and SaAnesthesia

Requirements:

Board Certification: BC/BE in Anesthesiology

Licensure: Active AZ license or IMLC eligible

Certifications: ACLS, PALS required

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days

• No OB or medical direction of CRNAs – Focus purely on surgical cases across a variety of specialties
• Great schedule flexibility – Mix of single and multi-day blocks from June through September.
• High-volume, well-supported environment – 50–60 cases/day with CRNA support and 13 total ORs across two sites.
