About the facility

A hospital system in Burlingame, California is seeking five board-certified Anesthesiologists for long-term locum tenens coverage. Providers will float between nearby hospital and surgery center locations. The role includes general cases with occasional regional anesthesia. No cardiac, liver, or neuro cases. Most shifts are independent, with occasional CRNA oversight.

About the clinician’s workday

• Monday–Friday schedule, 7a–3p (8a start on Wednesdays)
• Float between multiple high-acuity sites
• Adult and adolescent patients (13+)
• General cases, some regional (not required)
• CRNA support, majority of shifts are solo

Additional job details

• Case load: General surgical mix
• Support: CRNA team (supervision model 1:1 to 1:3 as needed)
• Prescriptive authority: CA DEA with Schedule 2/2n

Requirements

• Board Certified or truly BE with fellowship training
• Active California license (required – not open to licensing)
• Minimum 2 years of anesthesiology experience
• Recent experience in tertiary care settings
• AHA BLS and ACLS preferred
• 2 professional references required

Credentialing
• Timeframe: 60–90 days
