Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist for a hospital-based assignment in Southwest Florida, supporting a broad surgical service line with a predominantly QZ practice model.

Assignment Details
• Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical coverage

Work Details
• Case Mix: Cardiac, Orthopedics, Neuro, General Surgery, GI, Cath Lab, Urology, Vascular, TEE, Cardiovascular
• Cath Lab Coverage: General anesthesiologists manage routine Cath Lab cases including cardioversions, TEEs, pacemakers, AICDs, Watchman procedures, and cardiac ablations
• Anesthesia Model: 100% QZ practice with no medical direction of CRNAs
• After-Hours Coverage: Anesthesiologists perform their own cases after 7:00 pm on weekdays and 24/7 on weekends
• Regional Anesthesia: Ultrasound-guided blocks encouraged; MDs perform ultrasounds and blocks
• Pain Management: TAP or ESP blocks preferred; no labor epidurals
• Stroke Coverage: Participation in stroke call coverage at a Comprehensive Stroke Center (no in-house call required)

Practice Setting
• Hospital-based

Requirements
• State License: Active Florida license required
• Board Certification: Required
• Skill Set: Comfortable with cardiac-related procedures, TEE, and regional anesthesia
