Job description

Anesthesiologist Opportunity near the Florida Gulf Coast
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Contract Length: 26 weeks; potential ongoing need

Schedule

Full‑time coverage with on‑call responsibilities
Mix of scheduled day shifts, evenings, overnight call, and weekends
Orientation required prior to start

Weekday Coverage:

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM: OR / Trauma / Pediatrics / OB / ASC / Cath Lab
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: OR / Trauma / Pediatrics / OB / ASC
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: OR / Trauma / OB
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM: Trauma / OB with call responsibility

Weekend Coverage:

Day, evening, and overnight call coverage required
Ongoing 12‑hour call rotation


Practice Details

Hospital‑based anesthesia service
Level I adult trauma and Level I pediatric trauma center
Medical direction and supervision model
CRNAs are fully medically directed
Combination of supervised and solo cases for MDs
Light OB volume with exposure to high‑risk cases

Case Mix Includes:

Bariatric surgery
ENT
Interventional Radiology
Gynecology
Spine
Urology
Endoscopy
Oral & maxillofacial surgery
Dental
Plastics
Podiatry

EMR: Cerner

Clinical Scope

Medical direction and supervision of CRNAs
Personally performed anesthesia cases
Coverage across OR, trauma, OB, ASC, and procedural areas
Pediatric anesthesia (all ages required)
Participation in call rotation


Experience

Strong general anesthesia background required
Pediatric anesthesia experience strongly preferred
Comfort with trauma and high‑acuity cases required
24 months of case logs required for credentialing


Requirements

Position: Physician – Anesthesiology
Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
Active Florida medical license required (must be in hand)
DEA required
ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA) required
Cerner charting experience required
Providers must reside more than 60 minutes from the facility


Medical Requirements

Standard pre‑employment health requirements
TB testing required
Vaccinations per facility policy


Credentialing

Full hospital credentialing required
Orientation attendance required prior to start
Complete documentation required for submission
Credentialing reviews completed on a rolling basis
