A well-established hospital in Iowa is seeking a board-certified Anesthesiologist for a full-time locum opportunity. Enjoy a broad mix of general cases with a collaborative team and minimal call. This assignment offers a steady weekly schedule and exposure to diverse patient populations across multiple surgical environments.
Position Details:
Start Date: January 2026 (approx. 4-week credentialing with active IA license or IMLC)
Schedule: 5x8s per week, 40-hour guarantee
Call: Minimal and not guaranteed; Evening call and 24-hour call when available
Practice Environment:
13 ORs in the main hospital
5 Endoscopy suites
2 Ambulatory Surgery Centers (located ~10 miles from main hospital)
Approximately 1,200 surgical cases per month
EMR: Epic
Case Mix:
General surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, urology, and ENT
Very limited heads and hearts
Trauma includes ~700 cases annually, primarily blunt-force and agricultural-related. All major trauma goes to the University hospital.
Pediatric cases are mostly ENT (tubes and tonsils) or routine surgeries in older children
Very limited infant/young pediatric exposure
Requirements:
Board Certification: Required
Experience: Minimum 2 years
Licensure: Active Iowa license or IMLC eligibility
