We are seeking a Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist in Waterloo, Iowa.

Shift: Monday–Friday (0630–1630); Weekends Call Only; Night Call Every 3–4 Days

Position Details:
Patient Population: Adult and Pediatric (Healthy Peds)
Setting: Inpatient / Hospital Operating Rooms
Responsibilities:

Evaluate and monitor patients before and during surgery.

Provide general anesthesia including OB cases (with TOLAC).

Perform conscious sedation as required.

No hearts or neurosurgery cases.

Participate in call rotation (1st, 2nd, 3rd call; 1st called in ~75% of the time).

Work with a team of 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs covering 13 OR rooms.

Approximately 30–50 cases per day across department.

Required Procedures: General Anesthesia, OB Anesthesia (including TOLAC), Pediatric ENT, Conscious Sedation
EMR System: EPIC (May 2025)
Support Staff: 6 Physicians, 2 CRNAs, Full OR Support Staff
Days Per Month: Approx. 20 (full-time) or 2 weeks per month minimum availability
On-Call/Weekends: Yes – Weekend Call Only

Submission Requirements:
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology – Required (Not accepting BE)
• Active IA License or IMLC (LOQ must be uploaded at name clear) – Required
• ACLS Certification – Required (can obtain during credentialing)
• Available for at least 2 weeks per month – Required
• Call Coverage – Required
• COVID Vaccination – Required
• Clean Malpractice and License History – Required
