Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist – Supervision & Solo Coverage | New York
This Anesthesiology locum tenens opportunity is based at a 277-bed hospital in New York, providing comprehensive anesthesia coverage across a variety of surgical specialties. The facility operates under a collaborative care team model, supported by a strong CRNA and physician team. This position offers flexible scheduling with both weekday and weekend coverage options.
Opportunity Highlights
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Ongoing
Schedule: Approximately 5–10 shifts per month, with high-need dates including December 22–24, 26, 29–31, and January 2
Shift Hours: 7 AM–3:30 PM with weekend call rotation
Call Structure:
Call ratio: 1:3
CRNA in-house; MD on pager call from nearby hotel
Weekend call runs Friday 3 PM through Sunday 3 PM
Practice Model: Primarily medical direction, with the ability to perform own cases as needed
Case Mix & Procedures
General anesthesia
Endoscopy
Obstetrics (OB/GYN)
Mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
Technology & Support
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: Team of 3 MDs and 8 CRNAs
Well-structured anesthesia department with strong clinical and administrative support
Licensing & Requirements
Board Certification: Required in Anesthesiology (MD/DO)
License: Active New York medical license
Experience: Proficiency in general, OB, and endoscopy anesthesia settings
