Anesthesiologist Needed in North-Central North Carolina
Job description
A community hospital in North-Central North Carolina is seeking an Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens assignment beginning in fall 2026 and continuing into early 2027.
The case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, gastroenterology, and other bread-and-butter procedures. The facility does not handle obstetric or trauma cases.
During daytime hours, the physician will assist with preoperative evaluations, PACU responsibilities, operating room board management, regional blocks, breaks, and general workflow support. The anesthesia model is approximately 85% supervision and 15% personally performed cases.
The daily team typically consists of one anesthesiologist and four to five CRNAs covering approximately four to six operating rooms. CRNAs work with a high level of autonomy while remaining under physician supervision.
Nightly call coverage runs approximately 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with designated weeknight and weekend coverage periods. Candidates must have an active North Carolina medical license and a clean professional background.
Epic is used for electronic medical records. Credentialing is expected to take approximately 60–90 days. A 10-panel drug screening that includes THC must be completed at least 40 days before the assignment begins.
