Job description

Location: Two Options: Virginia Beach, VA and Norfolk, VA
Start Date: January 1, 2026 (facility can credential for Jan 5 start)
End Date: June 30, 2026
Shifts: 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts (based on team need)
Call: Required – Weeknight and/or Weekend Pager Call | 1:7 rotation
Setting: Level III Trauma Center | 273-bed hospital

Position Overview
Seeking Anesthesiology locums coverage for a 6-month assignment starting January 2026. This role offers shift flexibility, diverse case exposure, and the chance to work in a respected tertiary care hospital. Credentialing can be expedited for a Jan 5 start.

Clinical Skills Needed
General Anesthesia (Adults required | Pediatrics preferred)
Spinal, Epidural & Regional Anesthesia
OB / Obstetrical cases
Spine neurosurgery
Complex vascular
Complex orthopedics
Ventilation management
Central line & arterial line placement
Cardiac Cath Lab & EP Lab

Not Required:
Open Heart
Thoracic
PA catheter placement
Pain management

Practice Details
Pager call | 1:7
Level III Trauma Center
Serves Virginia Beach, Eastern Shore, and NE North Carolina
Accredited Primary Stroke Center
Magnet hospital for nursing excellence
Strong programs in heart, vascular, neuroscience, neuro/spine, and orthopedics

Requirements
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Active VA license (or willingness to obtain — confirm with client)
Ability to take weeknight or weekend call
Comfortable with required case mix
