General Cardiology PA/NP Locums in San Francisco
Job description
Shift Details: 3x12, 7-7:30, weekends and holidays required – usually 2-3 weekend shifts/mo; rotating holidays; all days
Work Details:
• Support staff: attending rotates on weekly basis that APPs round with
• Amount of coverage needed per month: 3 shifts a week
• Patients per day: 6-7 patients per day
• Department description: general cardiology patients that have concurrent medical issues. For example, they may be managing heart failure, diabetes, renal failure, or any other concurrent medical issue
• Attending is present in the morning with the APP for rounding and then the APP coordinates day, discharge summary, consults, progress notes, attends multi disciplinary rounds in afternoon. Will receive new admissions every other day. May be asked to cover post cardiac procedure service
• Skills required: At least 1 year of inpatient cardiology experience. Management of hospital medicine patients required. Must be proficient in writing progress notes, history taking, physical exam skills, adept at writing discharge summaries and coordinating complex discharges with ancillary teams (Nursing, SW, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy).
Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital, Non-ICU
Requirements:
• License required: Willing to License for PA; NP license required due to timeframe
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS
• Minimum experience required: at least 1 year of inpatient cardiology experience. may consider adjacent experience like cardiac critical care, cardiac procedure care, cath lab experience, etc. At least 1 year managing inpatient medicine patients required.

- Patients per day: 6-7 patients per day
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
