Locums – APP Cardiac Nurse Practitioner - Rockville, MD

Job description

Start Date: February 2, 2026
Contract Length: Ongoing until permanent provider is hired
Coverage Type: Scheduled (No Call)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Work Details:

50/50 split between inpatient and outpatient coverage

Inpatient (Shady Grove Medical Center):

Caseload of 10–13 patients

Perform consults, follow-up visits, and discharge planning

Collaborate closely with the general cardiologist on call and other APPs

Outpatient (Rockville & Germantown Clinics):

Conduct nuclear stress testing (9–13 patients/day)

Perform 30-minute follow-up visits

Manage prescription refills and review test results with patients

Support Staff: Physicians and APPs

EMR: Cerner

Monthly Coverage Need: Full-time

Practice Setting:

Hospital

Requirements:

Board Certification required

Active Maryland license required (not willing to license)

DEA and CSR required

BLS and ACLS required

Minimum 2 years of cardiac experience

Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
