Non-Invasive Cardiologist – Academic Locum Opportunity in California

Start Date: ASAP or by September 22, 2025
Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend
Schedule: Monday–Friday (5x8s), ideally 2 weeks per month

We’re partnering with a leading academic medical center in California seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologists for an exciting locum tenens opportunity. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, working in a Level 1 trauma center with a diverse patient population. Ideal candidates will have strong echocardiographic skills (TTE/TEE), experience working with diverse populations, and a background or interest in teaching and clinical research.

Academic Teaching Hospital with advanced echo capabilities, high acuity patients, and a collaborative team including echo techs and on-call cardiologists

Balanced Clinical Role covering inpatient and outpatient echos—25–30 echos/day, with opportunity to contribute in subspecialty areas like heart failure or preventive cardiology

Credentialing Support + Flexibility – CA license and DEA required, but credentialing turnaround is 60–90 days and flexible scheduling is available for at least 2 weeks per month

Practice & Support Details:

Echo techs on-site, inpatient cardiologist and interventional cardiologist always available

EPIC EMR

Procedures: TTE, TEE

BLS required, Advanced Echocardiography Level III preferred

Diverse adult patient population

Strongly prefer experience with teaching, diversity-focused care, and high-volume echo interpretation
