Non-Invasive Cardiologist – California | Academic Medical Center
Job description
We’re seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join a high-volume, academic medical center in California. This role focuses on echocardiography services with the option for inpatient rounding, teaching, and research involvement.
Position Highlights
Echo-Focused Role: Perform and interpret 25–30 echos/day (TEE & TTE) in a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital environment.
Academic Environment: Option for inpatient rounding if academic background; teaching experience strongly preferred.
Quick Start: ASAP start with potential for emergency privileges (~30 days) and a 6-month contract with option to extend.
Position Details
Start Date: ASAP (emergency privs possible if no malpractice)
Contract Length: 6 months with extension option
Schedule: 5x8s, M–F | At least 2 weeks/month coverage
Setting: Inpatient & outpatient | Hospital-based
Department: High-acuity, emergent echo service; academic/teaching environment
Patients: ~25–30 echos/day | Adult population
Support: Echo tech team, inpatient attending, interventional cardiologist on call
EMR: Epic
Requirements
Board Certification: BC/BE in Cardiovascular Disease
Licensure: Active CA license + CA DEA (Schedule II)
Certifications: BLS (Advanced Echocardiography Level III preferred)
Experience: Recent high-volume echo experience; teaching strongly preferred; new grads considered
Other: Experience with diverse populations strongly preferred; bilingual is a plus
Credentialing: 60–90 days
