Aya Locums is seeking a Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon to provide comprehensive cardiac and thoracic surgical care at a premier hospital facility in Maryland. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside an expert heart team dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: February 2nd, 2026
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Schedule: Full-time with call coverage
• Call Rotation: Every other weeknight and every third weekend

Work Details
• Specialty: Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery
• EMR: Cerner
• Patients per Year: Approximately 300 cases shared between two surgeons
• Support Staff: Collaborative surgical and ICU care team, including APPs, perfusionists, and cardiac nurses
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac and thoracic cases
• Coverage Needed: Ongoing full-time coverage during contract term
Department Overview:
The cardiac surgery department specializes in:
• Complex Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Minimally invasive valve repair and replacement
• Transcatheter structural heart procedures
• Arrhythmia surgery and catheter-based interventions
• ECMO management
• Comprehensive ICU post-surgical care
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership in a team-based cardiac care environment, working closely with cardiologists, advanced practitioners, and nursing staff to deliver the highest level of patient-centered care.

Requirements
• License: Active Maryland medical license required
• Board Certification: Required (Cardiothoracic Surgery)
• DEA & CSR: Required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA required)
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced or fellowship training in Structural Heart Surgery
• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ post-training experience preferred
