General Cardiologist Needed in Potsdam, NY | Clinic + Consults | Flexible Weeks | Nuclear Reads a Plus
Job description
This is a general cardiology opportunity in the St. Lawrence region of New York, where the provider floats between two facilities - one for outpatient clinic and stress test supervision, and one for the hospital consult service. Coverage is scheduled clinical hours plus call, Monday-Friday 8:00a-4:00p, with on-call 4:00p-8:00a as needed. The client prefers four weeks per month but is open to a minimum of two weeks per month, or two locums working opposite rotations (two weeks on, two weeks off). The assignment runs approximately 26 weeks (six to nine months), starting ASAP. While on call, the provider must remain within a 20-minute radius of the facility.
This is a solo practice (an APP is departing at the end of September). Responsibilities include outpatient clinic about three days per week, supervising stress tests about one day per week, inpatient consults and stress lab, reading the nuclear portion of stress tests as needed to support other providers (not a deal breaker if unable to read nuclear studies), and an ad hoc hospital consult service rotation. Documentation is in Epic, and Epic experience is required.
Candidates should be Board Certified in Cardiology, with a New York license in hand and AHA or RQI certifications, preferably more than five years of experience, and no malpractice claims. Board certification to read cardiac imaging studies including nuclear stress tests is preferred but not required.
