General Cardiologist MD/DO - Flexible Night Coverage in North Carolina

Aya Locums is partnering with a hospital-based cardiology service seeking General Cardiologists for flexible night coverage beginning in November 2026.

This is scheduled coverage rather than traditional call, and the client is open to reviewing a variety of shift availabilities. Weekend coverage currently includes Friday evening through Saturday morning, Saturday evening through Sunday morning, and Sunday evening through Monday morning. Physicians may be able to cover individual shifts or selected blocks based on availability.

The cardiologist should be comfortable managing Cardiac ICU admissions and higher-acuity cardiac patients, including STEMI, unstable ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and cardiogenic shock. An Advanced Practice Provider is assigned throughout each shift, with Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and Heart Failure specialists available for at-home backup.

The client is seeking a Board Certified Cardiologist who is comfortable interpreting ECGs and echocardiograms. An active North Carolina medical license will be required before presentation, but North Carolina participates in the IMLC, so cardiologists who can obtain the license through the Compact are still worth a conversation. A North Carolina DEA will also be needed for the assignment, and assistance can be provided with obtaining it.

The facility uses Cerner.
