General Cardiologist MD/DO - Flexible Night Coverage in North Carolina

Aya Locums is partnering with a hospital-based cardiology service seeking a General Cardiologist for recurring night coverage beginning in November 2026.

The schedule offers flexibility and is expected to include a minimum of approximately one week per month and one weekend per month as needed. Shifts do not have to be consecutive. Current hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Friday from 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM, and Sunday from 5:00 PM - 6:00 AM.

This is primarily consultative inpatient cardiology. Responsibilities include cardiology consults and E&M services, along with interpretation of echocardiograms and nuclear studies performed in the hospital. There are no procedural responsibilities, and temporary pacemaker needs are handled by the Electrophysiology physician on call.

The facility uses Epic, and a pager is provided by the cardiology department.

The client is seeking a Board Certified Cardiologist with an active North Carolina medical license, ACLS and BLS. A DEA will be needed for the assignment. Because this coverage is intended for local physicians, candidates should already be within a reasonable commuting distance and able to work without routine transportation or accommodation arrangements.
