A locum tenens opportunity is available for a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to provide ongoing coverage beginning September 1, 2026. This role offers a flexible 1-2 weeks per month schedule with a minimum commitment of 6 months. The position focuses on inpatient cardiology care, supporting an established team and handling a steady patient volume in a hospital setting. Occasional weeknight and weekend call may be required.

About the facility

This is a 265-bed acute care hospital with a well-supported cardiology department. The non-invasive cardiology team includes 1 physician and 1 advanced practice provider, in addition to this role. Dedicated interventional and electrophysiology (EP) services are also available onsite at all times, each staffed with 1 physician and 1 APP.

Patient Volume: Average daily census of 25-35 patients
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
EMR System: Epic
Procedures Performed: Stress testing, TEEs, cardioversions
Support: Strong subspecialty backup (interventional + EP)

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $400/Hr. - $420/Hr. - Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide inpatient non-invasive cardiology care
‣ Perform cardiology consults
‣ Interpret diagnostic studies, including:
Echocardiograms
Holter monitors
Stress tests (including nuclear)
EKGs
‣ Conduct procedures such as:
‣ Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
‣ Cardioversions
‣ Collaborate with onsite cardiology team, including non-invasive, interventional, and EP services
‣ Participate in weekend coverage and occasional night call, as needed

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certified in Cardiology (required)
‣ Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC Letter of Qualification (required)
‣ DEA required
‣ ACLS and BLS certifications required
‣ CTA reading experience preferred
‣ Clean file preferred for temporary privileges

Working Hours:
‣ Shift: Day shift
‣ Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour workday with 1-hour lunch)
‣ Schedule: Monday–Sunday coverage during assigned weeks
‣ Coverage Need: 1–2 weeks per month with weekend support
‣ Call: Occasional weeknight and weekend call

Skills:
‣ Strong proficiency in non-invasive cardiology diagnostics and interpretation
‣ Experience with echocardiography, stress testing, and EKG analysis
‣ Ability to manage a moderate-to-high patient volume (25–35 daily)
‣ Competence in performing TEE and cardioversions
‣ Effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary cardiology team
‣ Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
