Locum Cardiologist –Inpatient

Job description

A Level 1 trauma center in West Virginia is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for a long-term locum assignment. This role offers a flexible schedule with two weeks per month coverage and no call responsibilities.

Position Details:
📅 Start Date: As soon as credentialed – through September 1, 2025

📆 Contract Length: 1 year (minimum preference due to training requirements)

⏰ Shift: 8-hour days starting at 7 AM or 8 AM

🗓 Schedule Options: Monday–Friday or 7 days on / 7 days off

📞 Call: None

Work Environment:
🏥 Setting: Hospital-based, inpatient only

🧑‍⚕️ Support Staff: NP/PA support available

👥 Coverage: Approximately 2 weeks per month

📋 Patients: ~10 patients/day

🏨 Hospital Size: 1,078 beds

🏥 Department: Inpatient consults only; no ICU or follow-up care

💻 EMR: Cerner

Required Skills:
Cardiograms

Nuclear Stress Tests

Qualifications:
✅ Board Certification: Required

🪪 Licensure: Active WV license or IMLC eligible

💊 DEA Registration: Required

📜 Certifications: BLS and ACLS required

⏳ Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

🏅 Experience: Minimum experience required (details to be discussed)
