Job description
The Indian Health Service (IHS) has ongoing Emergency Medicine needs across the United States. We’re seeking MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs with emergency or urgent care experience who are passionate about making a difference in underserved communities.
Assignments range from small rural critical access hospitals to regional medical centers, offering a variety of practice environments. Providers typically work 12-hour shifts, with flexible scheduling and long-term extensions available.
Details:
Open to: EM, FM, or IM-trained physicians with relevant ER experience
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS typically required (ATLS preferred)
Board Certification: ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM accepted depending on facility
Licensure: Any active, unrestricted U.S. state medical license accepted
Credentialing: Streamlined with strong administrative support
Travel & Lodging: Fully covered
Settings: Mix of emergency departments, urgent care, and inpatient coverage in rural Native communities
