Emergency Medicine Physician – Oakdale, California

Oak Valley District Hospital in Oakdale, CA is seeking a residency-trained Emergency Medicine physician to join our growing ED team. This is a community-based role ideal for physicians who want a manageable volume, strong compensation, and the chance to live in one of California’s most scenic areas — “the gateway to Yosemite.”

Key Responsibilities:

Provide emergency medical care in a 12-bed ED with 4 fast-track rooms (approx. 20,579 visits/year)

Average 2.1 patients per hour in a well-supported clinical environment

Work alongside 6 physicians and 2.5 APPs with 24-hour physician coverage daily

Day and night shifts (12 hours each: 9a–9p / 9p–9a), with APP support 12p–10p

Compensation & Schedule:

$275/hour days | $285/hour nights (1099)

Full-time = 120 hours/month (1,440 annually)

$100,000 commencement bonus

Flexible scheduling and opportunity for long-term placement

Qualifications:

Residency trained in Emergency Medicine

Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABEM/AOBEM) with plans to sit for boards

California medical license (or ability to obtain)

• 20,500 annual visits | 2.1 patients/hour | Low admission rate
• $275/hr days | $285/hr nights (1099) + Commencement bonus
• 12-bed ED + 4 fast-track rooms | Level 4 trauma goal by 2025/26
