EM Phyisican Needed in LA

Job description

I have a client in Alexandria, LA who's seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for locum coverage starting as soon as possible. Here are some of the job details.

Start Date: As soon as credentialed

Contract Length: 6+ Months

Shift Details: About 35 shifts/month

Schedule: Mon-Wed: 7a-5p, 10a-8p, 3p-1a, 4p-12a, and 8p-7a. Thurs – Sun: 7a-5p, 10a-9p, 4p-2a, and 8p-7a

Work Details:
• Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: Must be available work minimum of 5 shifts/month to be considered
• Patients per day: 135/day
Annual volume: 49,500
• Patient Population/Age: all ages
• Department Description: Robust backup specialties on site. Scribe coverage 10hrs/day. 30% of patients come via EMS. 22% admission rate.
• EMR: Meditech- transitioning to EPIC in March 2025
• Hospital Bed size: 42 ED beds
• Skills Required: Must have completed an EM or FM residency

Practice Setting:
• Hospital

Requirements:
• Board Certification: ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM. If FM trained, physician must show proof of having worked in an ED for the past 2 years
• License Required: Active LA License
• DEA: Yes
• Certifications Required: ATLS (FM trained), ACLS and PALS required for both EM/FM

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 Days
