This inpatient-only position requires candidates to be certified by ABPS, ABFM, or ABIM, with additional certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS. There are no call responsibilities, and the average patient volume is about 100 per day or 1.8 patients per hour. The average inpatient census is 20. The role includes ICU and critical care duties, as well as responding to codes. After-hours admissions are handled by the hospitalist, and standard emergency medicine procedures are expected.
