Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity – Dual-Site Coverage (Western North Carolina)

We are currently seeking ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine physicians for an exciting opportunity providing care at two well-established emergency departments located in Western North Carolina. This role offers the chance to work in diverse environments with a mix of patient volumes and acuity levels, while enjoying the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Position Highlights

Board Certification: ABEM required
Minimum Commitment: 10 shifts/month
Licensure: Active North Carolina medical license required
Malpractice: No prior malpractice history
Credentialing: Single credentialing process for both sites

Site 1 Overview

Annual ED Volume: ~30,000
ED Beds: 19
Admission Rate: 10%
EMR: EPIC
Coverage:
24-hour physician coverage
30 hours of APC daily coverage
Acuity: Moderate
Shift Times (Weekdays):
Physicians: 6a–3p, 2p–11p, 10p–7a
APCs: 8a–6p, 11a–9p, 5p–3a
Shift Times (Weekends):
Physicians: 6p–6a

Site 2 Overview

Annual ED Volume: ~15,000
ED Beds: 12
Admission Rate: 60%
EMR: EPIC
Coverage:
24-hour physician coverage
APC Daily coverage:
Wed–Sun: 10 hours/day
Mon–Tues: 8 hours/day
Shift Times:
Physicians: 6a–6p, 6p–6a
APCs: 12p–10p daily
