Facility in Altoona, PA seeking EM locums coverage Rates: $325/hr Position Overview Specialty: Emergency Medicine Start Date: September 8, 2025 Shifts/Month: 4 (minimum) Credentialing Timeline: ~90 days Clinical Details Annual Volume (Altoona): ~51,000 visits Average ED Volume (24 hrs): ~137 patients Staffing: 70 hrs/day physician coverage + 24 hrs/day APP coverage You will work alongside other physicians and sign off on APPs Procedures: Intubation Chest tubes Central lines Joint reductions and aspirations Laceration repair, I&Ds, and other typical EM interventions EMR: Cerner No vent management Stroke Certification required Candidate Requirements Board Certification: Required in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) Training: Must have completed an EM residency Licensure: Active Pennsylvania medical license required Certifications: CPR and stroke certified (ACLS/BLS/PALS/ATLS not required if board certified) Experience: Minimum 2 years post-residency in emergency medicine DEA: Required Local Candidates Preferred (must be able to drive to sites) Facility & Location Trauma Level: III Practice Setting: Hospital-based emergency department Patient Demographics: Full age spectrum; acute, emergent, and trauma care
