Emergency Medicine Physician – Low-Volume Rural ER in Texas
Job description
A rural hospital in central Texas is seeking a locum Emergency Medicine Physician for coverage starting in October through December. This is a great opportunity for physicians who enjoy a slower-paced, high-autonomy environment and want to make a meaningful impact in a tight-knit community.
Position Overview
Start Date: October (coverage needed through December)
Shifts: 12- or 24-hour shifts available
12-hour shifts: 6a–6p or 6p–6a
Shift Commitment: 8–10 shifts per month
ER Volume: Approx. 585 patients/month
Support: No APPs; working alongside experienced RNs
EMR: Meditech Expanse
Transport: Helipad on site; air transport coordinated as needed via fixed- and rotary-wing services
Candidate Requirements
Training: Open to EM-trained physicians; Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians with Emergency Medicine experience are highly encouraged to apply
Experience: Open to new graduates
Licensure: Active Texas medical license (or in process)
Certifications: Must be current in ACLS, BLS, and other standard EM certifications
