Physician Assistant – Gastroenterology (Outpatient Clinic)
Target Start Date: April 6, 2026
Contract Length: 6‑month assignment (potential extension)

Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours, no call
Shift Structure & Expectations:

Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
40 hours guaranteed
Fridays typically lighter patient load (clinic until ~noon)
High‑volume, fast‑paced GI clinic
Patients per day: 18–24
EMR: Epic, Synapse, Dragon Speech


Practice Details
Setting:

Outpatient Gastroenterology clinic within a critical access environment

Patient Population:

Adults and geriatrics (ages 18+)
High prevalence of Hepatitis C
No pediatric patients

Support:

4 GI physicians
2 MAs
1 scheduler
Collaborative team environment; ability to work independently required

Clinical Responsibilities Include:

GI-focused outpatient clinic visits
Workups for:

EGD
Colonoscopy
Manometry
Bravo pH studies
Small bowel capsule studies
Fibroscan


Managing acute and chronic GI issues
Supporting procedural workflows on clinic side
High-volume daily schedule; strong multitasking and efficiency required


Requirements

Role: Physician Assistant
Experience:

GI experience preferred
Will consider candidates without prior GI experience


License: Active New Mexico license required (not willing to license)
Certifications: BLS
EMR Experience: Epic experience preferred
Credentialing Timeframe: 90–120 days

Emergency privileges possible with full NM credentials already in place
