Position Overview
A coastal Northern California healthcare organization is seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage. This role includes weekday clinic, night call, and weekend call rotation, with a blend of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities supported by an experienced clinical team.

Schedule
Weekday Clinic and Night Call

Clinic hours:

7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

7:40 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.

Night call: 5:00 p.m. – 7:30/7:40 a.m. the following day (aligned with confirmed shift)

Clinic hours and calls during the 8-hour clinic shift are paid at the regular hourly rate

Night call is paid at the night call rate plus call-back compensation

Weekday lunch: 30 minutes unpaid

Office days: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch

Weekend Call

24-hour coverage

Patient volume: 12–16 per shift

Upper GI endoscopy

Esophageal dilatation/manometry

Esophageal manometry interpretation

Small bowel biopsy

Lower GI endoscopy

Sigmoidoscopy

Colonoscopy

Liver biopsy

Practice Setting
Inpatient and outpatient

Requirements
Board Certification required

Active California medical license required

Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital clinical experience

Current case logs required for surgical specialties

DEA required

Certifications required: ERCP, FLUORO, BLS
