Job description

📍 Location: Illinois
🏥 Setting: Hospital-based inpatient coverage at two locations (12 minutes apart)

📅 Start Date: As soon as credentialed
⏳ Contract Length: 3 months with the potential to extend
📆 Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (inpatient rounding and procedures)
Night Call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (phone only)

🩺 Support & Workflow:
Support: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on-site
Average Census: ~14 patients/day (may vary)
Patient Population: Adults
Coverage Need: Full-time preferred (7 on/7 off), but part-time options considered (minimum 7 days/month)
EMR: Epic; ProVation used for GI documentation

🔬 Required Procedures:
Esophageal Dilatation
Small Bowel Biopsy
Lower GI Endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy
Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
Upper GI Endoscopy with:
Biopsy
Foreign Body Removal
Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery)
Banding of Varices
PEG
ERCP – Diagnostic & Therapeutic

🧳 Travel & Lodging: Provided
✅ Requirements:
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active IL medical license (IMLC candidates welcome; temps possible)
DEA license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of experience

🕒 Credentialing Timeline: 60–90 days (temps may be available for qualified candidates)

• 13 weeks with option to extend
• On call required
