Gastroenterologist Needed in Michigan | Hospital-Based GI | ERCP Preferred | Possible 7-On/7-Off

Job description

Start: October 12, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks (open to extension)
Coverage: Hospital-based gastroenterology — inpatient and ED consults, endoscopy, and shared call
Schedule: Typical day shifts with shared call; 7-on/7-off may be available
Call: On-call required (shared GI call)
Patient Population: Adults
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, Level I trauma center / tertiary referral hospital with modern endoscopy suites
Support: Excellent APP support Monday–Friday; collaborative team including GI, hospitalists, surgeons, IR, oncology, and critical care

Responsibilities: Evaluate and manage adult acute and chronic GI disorders; perform EGD and colonoscopy; therapeutic endoscopy; ERCP strongly preferred; consult on ED and inpatient GI cases; participate in shared GI call; multidisciplinary collaboration; EMR documentation.

Common Cases: GI bleeding, acute pancreatitis, liver disease/cirrhosis, IBD, biliary obstruction, dysphagia, GI malignancies, anemia evaluation, PUD, colon cancer screening.

Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Recent inpatient GI experience
- ERCP competency strongly preferred; EUS a plus
- Active Michigan license required, or the ability to obtain one
- DEA required
- ACLS required
