Chief of Gastroenterology – Leadership Opportunity (Physician Only)
Overview:
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a board-certified Gastroenterologist (MD/DO only) to serve as the Chief of Gastroenterology within a prominent healthcare system in New Jersey. This role is ideal for experienced physician leaders looking to shape the future of academic and clinical gastroenterology across a multi-county region.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and lead a new academic GI division with a focus on clinical excellence, education, and research.
Recruit, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team including faculty, fellows, and staff.
Expand and enhance advanced GI services, including endoscopy and inpatient/outpatient care.
Serve as a hands-on clinical leader, actively managing complex gastroenterology cases and participating in rounds and consults.
Collaborate with health system leadership to drive strategic growth of the GI service line.
Shape the division's culture, clinical standards, and academic mission, including partnership with a new medical school and Drexel University’s academic community.
Deliver care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including a facility with a Level II Trauma Center.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with board certification in Gastroenterology – REQUIRED
Active and unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain) – REQUIRED
BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS certifications (or ability to obtain) – REQUIRED
Prior program startup or leadership experience (Chief, Medical Director, etc.) – Preferred
Not open to new graduates, APPs, locums, 1099 contracts, or visa sponsorship.
Candidates with malpractice or licensing history will be considered, subject to limitations.

Submission Requirements:
