Gastroenterology locum assignment – high pay & travel covered – Barelas, NM (Nov start)

Job description

We’re assisting Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Barelas, NM, with a Gastroenterology locum assignment beginning this November.

This is a daytime-based role with beeper call, covering clinic-based procedures, referrals from the ED, and inpatient follow-ups — with high pay and full travel coverage included.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00a–8:00p
Beeper call

Setting:
Outpatient-focused with occasional inpatient procedures from ED/hospitalist referrals

Required Procedures:
Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, variceal injection, foreign body removal, bleeder fulguration)
Esophageal manometry interpretation
Colonoscopy (with biopsy, polyp removal)
Sigmoidoscopy (flexible & rigid), small bowel biopsy
EUS, liver biopsy, Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management

Preferred Skills:
ERCP (diagnostic & therapeutic)
PEG placement
Esophageal dilatation/manometry

🎓 Fellowship: Preferred
📈 EMR: Epic
💼 Certifications: ACLS, BLS
💳 Licensure: NM license preferred
📝 Credentialing: ~60–90 days
Weeknight call = extra pay if called in
Weekend call = 6 regular hours/day if called in
