Locum Gastroenterologist Needed – Weekday & Weekend Call Coverage at New Hospital in Huntersville, NC

AHGI & Hep Huntersville is seeking two Board-Certified and Fellowship-Trained Gastroenterologists to provide locum tenens call-only coverage at Atrium Lake Norman Hospital in Huntersville, NC—a brand-new facility opening July 1, 2025. This assignment is exclusively focused on call coverage with inpatient responsibilities and no clinic or procedural requirements outside of inpatient management.

Coverage is needed for both weekday and weekend shifts, including overnight and full weekend call blocks. The on-call physician will be responsible for inpatient rounding, completing inpatient GI procedures, and managing assigned and unassigned patients via Epic EMR. The typical volume is fewer than 10 patients per shift, allowing for focused and high-quality care.

There is no requirement for supervision of advanced practice providers or involvement in resident teaching. This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking flexible locum work with a manageable call load in a supportive, evolving hospital setting.
