Description:
A locum tenens opportunity is available for a Physician in Gastroenterology starting June 29, 2026, for a 6-month assignment. This role involves a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off schedule providing both outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology care, including endoscopic procedures. The physician will manage a moderate patient volume while performing colonoscopy and EGD procedures and inpatient consultations.

This is a small acute care hospital with integrated outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology services supported by a multidisciplinary clinical team.

‣ Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, geriatrics (ages 18–99)
‣ Support Staff: 1 MD, 3 APPs, 3 clinical staff, and 2 non-clinical staff
‣ Patient Volume: Approximately 10–11 patients per day
‣ Coverage Model: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotating schedule

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $435-$470/Hr. - Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide general gastroenterology care in inpatient and outpatient settings
‣ Perform colonoscopy and EGD procedures
‣ Manage inpatient GI consults and hospital-based GI care
‣ See approximately 10–11 patients per day
‣ Participate in a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotating schedule
‣ Work collaboratively with MDs, APPs, and clinical support staff
‣ Document all care using Epic EMR
‣ Provide coverage across both clinic and hospital settings

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certified Gastroenterologist required
‣ Active Pennsylvania medical license required (willing to license accepted)
‣ DEA required
‣ Minimum 2 years of experience required
‣ Epic EMR experience preferred
‣ Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days (temporary privileges possible with clean file)

Working Hours:
‣ Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
‣ Shift: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
‣ Shift Type: 10-hour day shifts
‣ Coverage Model: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
‣ Call: Required
‣ Start Date: June 29, 2026
‣ Weekend/Holiday: As part of on-call rotation during active weeks

Skills:
‣ Gastroenterology diagnosis and management
‣ Endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and EGD
