Job description

We’re currently seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a long-term locum assignment with a prominent health system in Columbia, SC. This opportunity offers a structured weekday schedule, access to advanced endoscopic procedures, and strong clinical support across multiple hospital campuses.

Position Highlights:
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Call: Offsite evening call with rare callback; onsite return required for emergencies
• Setting: Mix of inpatient consults and outpatient procedures
• Volume: 8–12 procedures/day; 10–16 inpatient consults
• Team: 5 other GI physicians, 9 APPs (inpatient & outpatient), full OR and CRNA support
• Procedures: General GI (EGD, colonoscopy, manometry); advanced endoscopy (ERCP/EUS) preferred but not required
• Facilities: Providers may rotate across 3 hospital locations, all within close proximity

Additional Details:
• EPIC EMR (preferred experience)
• Minimum 2 years post-training required
• Must be SC licensed or willing to obtain (credentialing: 4–6 months depending on licensure)
• 6-month minimum commitment with potential to extend
