Gastroenterologist – Locums Opportunity | Tennessee (ERCP Required)
Job description
A top Tennessee health system is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide ongoing 24-hour call coverage across two sister facilities. This role offers structured, week-long coverage blocks throughout 2025, with the opportunity to perform both upper and lower scopes and manage a high-acuity inpatient caseload.
Work Details
Coverage Type: 24-hour call (7a–7a), 7-day blocks
Case Mix: GI bleeds, abdominal pain, food bolus, elevated liver enzymes, and other urgent inpatient GI needs
Procedures: ERCP required; upper and lower scopes performed regularly
Trauma Level: III
Patient Volume: ~8 patients per day
Support Staff: Independent coverage (no APP support)
EMR: Epic
Requirements
Board Certification: Gastroenterology (required)
License: Tennessee (IMLC accepted; open to licensing)
Certifications: BLS; ERCP required
DEA: Active
Background: Clean record
Privileging: ~90 days
Vaccinations: Exemptions accepted with documentation
