Gastroenterologist Needed in Kingsport, TN | ERCP | 24-Hour Call | 2 Openings

Job description

This is a 24-hour, spot-coverage gastroenterology call opportunity at an acute care hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee, with coverage that may also include a second regional facility. Coverage is 24-hour call each day within a confirmation, typically Monday 7:00a to the following Monday 7:00a, with one physician working 1:1 with an APP. The provider is onsite approximately 8-10 hours per day on a Monday-Friday schedule with weekend call coverage; night call includes beeper coverage and 24-hour weekend call, with rare after-hours callbacks - most after-hours responsibilities are phone consults. The assignment runs approximately 26 weeks with two openings, shifts are first come, first served, and credentialing runs approximately 60-90 days. Travel is billable, and providers must be comfortable with a fast pace and high volume.

The setting is the inpatient endoscopy suite and main OR, with an average of 5-8 procedures per day on 24-hour call; consult volume varies, and the provider may assist with rounding. The population is adults, with some possibly under 18. The physician should be well experienced in all general GI and ERCP cases and procedures - ERCP is required and EUS is not, with flexibility around EUS scheduling available. Olympus equipment is used, and documentation is in Epic (Epic proficiency required, as the facility will not train).

Candidates should be Board Certified in Gastroenterology, with ERCP required, a Tennessee license or IMLC required before confirming dates, a TN DEA, ACLS and BLS, and a clean background.
