Gastroenterologist Needed for Flexible Central Texas Locum Coverage

Job description

Aya Locums is working with a Central Texas client seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for ongoing locum coverage beginning as soon as available. The assignment is expected to run 3-6 months with the possibility of extension and offers flexibility around a 3-4 day weekday schedule.

The physician will provide outpatient Gastroenterology care with approximately 10 patients per clinic day, along with procedural coverage averaging approximately 10-15 procedures per procedural day. The clinical scope includes EGD, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. ERCP capability is of particular interest for this need, although I would still welcome a conversation with experienced Gastroenterologists who do not perform ERCP. EUS is not required.

Evening and overnight call is included following scheduled shifts. Call is non-restricted, with the physician required to remain within 30 minutes of the facility while covering call.

Clinic support includes front-office staff and a medical assistant. Athena One is utilized in the clinic, with Meditech Expanse used in the hospital.

Board Certification in Gastroenterology and ACLS are required, along with at least one year of experience. An active Texas license is accepted, and physicians eligible through the IMLC may also be considered. A clean credentialing file may qualify for temporary privileges in approximately two weeks.
