General Surgery Locum Opening – San Francisco, CA

Job description

Start Date: November 3, 2025 | Contract Length: 6+ months

Highlights
Comprehensive 24-hour call coverage with onsite mornings at UCSF St. Francis, covering two nearby hospitals.

Work in a high-volume adult surgery setting with Epic EMR; Da Vinci robotic surgery experience strongly preferred.

Board Certified in General Surgery with active California license and DEA required; minimum 2 years post-training experience.

Position Details
Shift Schedule: 24-hour call with 6–8 hours of onsite coverage in the mornings

Coverage Locations: UCSF St. Francis (on-site) and UCSF St. Mary (call only; 3 miles apart)

Shifts Needed: 5 shifts/month starting November; may increase to 15 shifts/month by January 2026

Call Volume: Typically 1–2 calls per 24-hour shift

Patient Rounding: 4–5 adult patients daily

Holiday Coverage: Facility requires holiday availability—please include this with your submission

Support Staff: Provided

Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital

EMR: Epic

Requirements
Board Certification in General Surgery (required)

Active California Medical License and DEA (required)

Minimum 2 years post-training experience (required)

Da Vinci robotic surgery experience (strongly preferred)
